This “product” is for 1 animal to be lap AI’d. If multiple animals are being brought, you’ll need to pay that full amount to hold your place. This is to prevent non payments from negatively impacting my business because there will be limited time to enforce billing on lap AI day.
Due to scheduling restrictions, in Fall 2026 I will only be offering one public laparoscopic AI date (10/17/26, central KY). Please contact me directly for scheduling 2027 and beyond. The information below will apply only to the 10/17/26 Kentucky Dairy Goat Association clinic.
More details:
Base fee will be $100 per animal for non KYDGA members, $75 per animal for KYDGA members. This includes only the procedure itself and any associated medications- sedation, pain management, antibiotics. It does NOT include any synchronization drugs.
Producers may obtain and supply their own synchronization drugs, or purchase them in advance. The deadline for purchasing drugs is 9/17/26 to allow time for us to order and ship drugs. A synchronization protocol will be provided with signup. Make sure you tell us in the notes you will need synchronization drugs; these will be billed separately. Prescription drugs (Estrumate and PG600) will be sent via myAnimalRx; CIDRs can be sourced from several places including SEK Genetics and Reproductive Provisions.
Minimum deposit due of $75 per farm for members, $100 for non members at signup to hold a spot. If attendance changes for whatever reason, deposit may be partially or fully refunded at my discretion. (Family emergency etc vs you just didn't feel like coming anymore - I am pretty easy going but I don't want to limit signups, then have people change their minds.)
Clients with an outstanding balance with CKSRVS will be expected to pay that down prior to the event.
Above fees and info subject to change; however once you have a deposit down, it is for the prices and policies that were in place when you put that deposit down.
Some notes about sedation:
Laparoscopic AI is a sedated, surgical procedure. Goats are notoriously sensitive to anesthetic drugs and although all precautions are taken, there is always some chance of adverse reactions. As the veterinarian I am doing everything in my power to mitigate risks by requiring fasting, using an anesthetic protocol I am comfortable with at low doses when possible, keeping reversals on hand (and pulled up), and having a technician present to assist with monitoring during the procedure. With participation in this surgical procedure with your animal(s), you acknowledge the existing inherent risks involved.
